2 Corinthians 13
Paul calls on men and women to examine themselves. No one knows what is in your heart but you and the Lord. It would be wise of us to look closely and be sure that we are really a part of God’s family. This life is too difficult to live without God and eternity is too long to be wrong.
Rom. 10:9-11 lays it out very clearly. But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart" (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim); because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says, "Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame."
